The Future of Work

With the onset of the 4th industrial revolution, new business models and jobs are being created - and destroyed at an incredible pace.

What are key trends shaping the future of work? What are the jobs of the future, what is in demand today and how is this expected to change?

With the pace of technological progress in front of us, knowledge and skills are getting outdated quickly. What are the implications for individuals, organisations, and society?

For individuals: what was once a single vocation / single career life, is becoming a constant professional marathon. Within the next 5 years, it is estimated that more than 50% of skills valued today will give way to other skills such as cognitive flexibility. Are we outdated already? How can we catch up and learn at the speed required for the ever-changing demands of the business environment?

For organisations: the post-industrialisation model that is still largely intact clearly needs to change.  How will companies find scarce talent? What does this mean for the workplace and HR systems of the future?

For society: changes to social structures and support systems will no doubt have to shift in alignment.  What does this mean for education?  Retirement systems?

Ultimately, what will it take to thrive in this era of disruptive times?
