The Art of Women in Leadership

With gender diversity firmly on the list of hot topics of 2018 in Singapore, this is an opportunity to reflect on global research & past practices to see what, if any, diversity & inclusion initiatives have worked.
Reflecting on her own practical experience as a Diversity & Inclusion practitioner, research into female career progression, and personal experience as female leader, Peta will share latest thinking on how we can support women in leadership at an individual, team and the organisational level.
The session promises to discuss, agree with or dispel myths about whether we are our own worst enemies, if your social capital really counts, the truism that men are needed in this debate - and if diversity really makes business sense.
With a subject so full of stereotypes, biases & differing opinions, we hope to shine a light on the subtle opportunities for change.
About the Speaker - Peta Latimer, Partner and Head of People and Change, KPMG
(Management Consulting Practice, ASEAN)
Peta Latimer is currently Partner and Head of People and Change for KPMG’s Management Consulting practice in the ASEAN region.
She has over 15 years of experience advising companies in the UK, Austraia and Asia Pacific on Workforce Strategy, Digital Restructuring & HR Transformation.
Peta has a psychology background and personal passion for tackling diversity and inclusion issues in the workplace.
Prior to joining KPMG, Peta was at IBM, where in the UK she was responsible for building their Diversity & Inclusion consulting practice.  The business primarily focused on women in leadership initiatives, given the newly passed reporting regulation at the time.  Working with global researchers, Peta & her team constructed a career progression framework and designed a subsequent female-only programme called ‘Strategies for Success’ which she delivered across Europe, US, Africa & ASPAC for the likes of Maersk, PepsiCo, Jaquar Landrover, Deloitte and Royal Bank of Scotland.

Peta holds a Master's degree in Organisational Behaviour from Birkbeck, University of London and a Bachelor's degree from University of Sydney.
