Team up with your teenager

Bridging the Teen-Parent Divide through Collaborative Parenting

“Good habits formed at youth make all the difference” – Aristotle

Are you struggling to effectively get through to your teen? Do you feel like lack of communication is building a wall between you both? Let’s be honest, being a parent is no easy feat. While most of us come from a place of infinite and unconditional love for our kiddos, many of us (although we may not all admit it) only have so much patience, emotional capacity, and energy to pour into our loved ones – especially when it comes to raising a resilient, responsible, and happy teen. The teenage years can be confusing to navigate through for both teens and parents and are often riddled with mind-blowing misunderstandings, frustrating interactions, resentment, or anxiety. This can put a load of unnecessary strain on the teen-parent relationship – after all, this is a first-time experience for you both!

Old-school parenting styles which emphasise fear-based methods (i.e., threats and punishments) are no longer relevant nor effective when raising this 21st century generation of teens. So, what’s the emotionally healthy alternative? The key to raising a happy teenager and creating a positive teen-parent alliance is by changing with the times (as most teens will tell you) and adopting a “Collaborative Parenting” approach which cultivates mutual communication through an inclusive approach involving all family members.

This workshop will help you understand your teenager better by:
•    Gaining insight into what collaborative parenting is
•    Understanding your current parenting style
•    Putting yourself in your teen’s shoes
•    Learning about some of the collaborative parenting tools you can use at home

If you’re looking to get closer to your teenager and develop healthy mutual cooperation, then this workshop is for you!

Non-members are welcome to attend up to two of our events as a guest. After you have attended two of our events, we strongly encourage you to become a PrimeTime member if you wish to participate further.
