NUS Uplift Mentorship Programme 2023 - Mentor Registration

NUS Uplift Mentorship Programme 2023 is a 6-month one-to-one mentoring programme that matches students from lower-income backgrounds with industry professionals to provide them with an opportunity to explore diverse career paths and gain the confidence necessary to meet the demands of our 21st century workforce.

To Qualify as A Mentor

» Must be a working professional passionate about positively impacting lives

» Previous mentoring experience preferred but not required

As a Mentor, your role is to:

» Establish with the mentee, the mentee's explicit goals and objectives for the relationship

» Take the initiative in the relationship but allows the mentee to take responsibility for their growth, development, and career planning

» Stay accessible, committed, and engaged during the 6 months

» Maintain regular contact with your mentee

» Provide encouragement and assist the mentee in identifying professional development activities

» Help identify and correct gaps in relevant skills and knowledge

» Maintain confidentiality of the information shared by the mentee

» Adhere to the ground rules to build mutual trust and respect

» Review goals and objectives of the relationship with the mentee midway

» Provide comprehensive feedback mid-programme and during closing for programme improvement
